Yesterday I bought JY a story book – the collection of Bob The Builder stories. Bob The Builder is among one of his favourite cartoon characters. I was caught in surprise when JY requested for a Bob The Builder bento! Luckily I found a photo online from JB Bentos, hurray!
Today’s bento consists of egg sandwich, raisins and mini pretzels besides the ham which made up Bob’s face.

The steps is as following.
I use a round cap from one of JY’s water tumbler, traced out Bob’s face on a cooked ham, but carefully including his ears at both side. Be careful not to cut through the ears. Then I made another small circle cut out from the ham for the nose. Pin the nose to the face using a small stripe of spaghetti. After that I cut Bob’s hat from 2 different cheeses. As usual I use the cheddar cheese which is in darker yellow on top because that cheese is very soft and easy to stick on. Then I cut the eyes and mouth from seaweed and assemble the facial detail.
So that’s how my Bob The Builder turns out to be, can you spot my bento in the left? By the way, I’m happy enough that all is done in my first try, nothing need to be redo.

More photos with the real Bob The Builder as background.

When JY is back from nursery, he’s so upset, that one of his friends actually took one of Bob’s eyes and ate it before he start eating his bento! Ooppsss….
