My elder boy is still at hometown with grandpa & grandma, but today I have the chance to make bento! Two in a row – one for Justin & one for Jasmine, the 2 adorable siblings of a family friend. This is in fact a ‘demo’ & hands on about bento making for the mum of these 2 adorable kids.
I guess I’m going to have more and more bento mates soon! Huray!
Guess it is always good to start with simpler bento, so we decided to make cheese sandwiches with the Rabbit & Teddy Bear sandwich cutter and also bee with sausages. To fill up the gaps of the boxes, we included mini pretzels, 2 strawberries each and also some flower sausages.
Wanted to see how the kids tackle the bento?
Tada! The 2 adorable kids! Both of them pick and eat the strawberries first if I remember correctly.
OK, the only difference in these 2 bento is just the facial detail of the little bee.
The facial detail was made using the handy shoe facial seaweed puncher and we just select a different combinations for each bento. In fact if you pay close attention, you can see the remaining of the seeweed inside the bento. Can you spot them? LOL
Maybe next time I should make something that can differentiate between a boy’s bento and a girl’s bento! This round I don’t have much things at home that I can use too because I’ve cleared up almost everything before I send JY back to hometown because I anticipate no bento making for at least 2 weeks.
In fact, I get a request after that to make princess theme bento from the cute little girl! Haha…Yeah, why not! Guess most little girls dream to be a princess! (But give me some time to think first on how to make one yeah, little cutie! LOL)
I had a great time making bento today, and I hope my friend and the kids enjoy the day too! Maybe next time I should capture the moment of JY eating his bento too! I just realise so far I don’t have any!
