How-To For Sausage Flower

I had quite a number of requests on how I made the flower sausage flowers that I always included in my boy’s bento. The simple but nice looking sausage flowers always do a good job in making the bento look much nicer.

Sorry that I dragged so long to post the step-by-step of it. Finally I managed to do it today. Pardon me for the photo quality because I had to do the steps and at the same time taking photo of it. :D

All right, here comes the steps how I cut these sausages flowers.

1. Cut the raw sausage into half. At the flat surface of the sausage, cut following the yellow lines – a cross in the middle and at each edge cut off a tiny triangle.

2. Boiled or steam the sausages and this is the result of the sausage flower..

Tips: Remember to cut the sausage then only boil it so that the sausage flower will curl toward outside when boil in hot water. This makes the flower shape look more obvious rather than boil and cut.

Hope you have a great time making this sausage flowers! :D
