I wonder whether my alarm clock was not functioning this morning, or I was so deep into sleep that I didn’t even realize the alarm clock ringing.
I woke up just to find out that it was another half an hour before my boy’s school van is expected to reach and pick him up!
I thought I wanted to skip making bento for my boy today and just pack him some biscuits, but JY woke up too by himself (as a result of sleeping very early the night before) and he wanted a bento!
Luckily I had some left over noodles from last night’s dinner, so I just heated some up in the microwave while quickly boiled two mini sausages.
I put the noodles and sausages at the lower portion of the 2-tier bento box. Punched some seaweed flowers with the flower craft puncher and decorated the sausages. At the upper section of the bento box, I included some fresh cherries, dried prunes and some bonus Smarties mini chocolates.
Managed to get all these done around 15 minutes and snap a photo just right before the van arrived! No cute details though.
By the way, the mixed vegetables & ham fried noodles are delicious! Daddy was experimenting with the new Taiwan imported healthy handmade noodles given by mother-in-law, and they taste superb!
If you realized, there are new fruits in JY’s bento today, the cherries. He never likes cherries, but yesterday we were at the shopping mall and there was promotion going on for this U.S. imported cherries. The promoter let JY & JQ tried one each, and they requested for another two each! So of course I bought them a big box after that. By the way, the cherries are really yummy, no wonder the boys love them!

I probably will just pack bread with jam if i lack of time.. hahaha~
I really impress with your great hand that can come out with such a great bento in 15 minutes.. thumb up for u~ ^^
Rachel Hei – Oh, I thought because I have the left over noodles and it was colourful by itself, so if I used it then I don’t need to do much for decorating, haha…And luckily the night before I already washed the lettuce and the cherries, so I can just used them straight away!
I’ll probably give Darrius a box of mix cereal or cereal bar if I don’t have time!
Oh, I love cherries but Darrius don’t like them… for now so no cherries in his bento!
Angeleyes – Looking at the time, I wanted to just pack him some biscuits, but JY insists a bento!
Actually JY usually doesn’t really like cherries too, but this round he tested them in the shopping mall and somehow he like them. Guess this one that I bought is more juicy and sweet.
Just 15 minutes? This looks great and you’re a super Mum
Ancoo – Yeah 15 minutes, not including the taking photo time of course, haha…
Not really a super mum, just so happened I had the noodle already in the box that can direct put into microwave, and the lettuce and cherries are all washed the night before and ready to be used straight away!
sounds very familiar! haha.. how can we turn down a bento request, right? you’re amazing, still have time to cut out 3 nori flowers! =)
cheers, karen
Karen – Oh yes, I can never turn down a bento request from my son, hahaha…
Oh, that nori flower, thanks to the puncher, I just punched and put them on, even without any mayonnaise to stick them, I hope they hold until when my boy eats his bento!
Quick and nice bento~
So colorful.
Now is the cherries season.
I do love US cherry rather than japanese sakuranbo.
hippo mum – Luckily I have the leftover noodles from the dinner which by itself is quite colourful.
