From now on until the big Kiddie Sports Day event is over, I have to crack my head coming up with ideas for some light snack bento boxes that will stay fresh until late afternoon.
As I mentioned yesterday, JY will be rehearsing dances and training for his big day and snacks will be provided for the morning break. But the little boy insists for his bento still, and he will eat them in the late afternoon at the childcare.
Today, I made him a simple hard boiled egg bento with two skewers of endamame. I put some light soy sauce in the cute elephant sauce container for him to have with the egg.
I decorated the egg into a panda just like the one on the lid of the box. Among the animals on the lid, I had the panda and the elephant in the bento box!
On the bright side, my small size snack/fruit bento boxes get the chance to make their appearances until I am done with the light snack bento for my boy.
The bento box I used today is from Rub A Dub Dub © and I love the design a lot! These boxes came all the way from Taiwan too, thanks to Ming! They are just perfect for packing small portion of food.
By the way, I like to share a fun tip about hard boiled egg. Can you see the egg is round instead of oval?
I hand molded it while the egg was still warm. After removing the shell, I gentle pressed and shaped the egg into a round shape and cooled it down with room temperature water. There you go – a really round looking hard boiled egg!
