Today I have to stay at home with my elder boy because he is down with fever and therefore there is no bento for him. The pediatrician suggested that I keep him at home, because she expected the fever to be on and off for at least three days, gosh!
Since I did not have to rush to work in the morning, I made my younger boy, JQ a bread and fruity bento before sending him off to his nanny – his very first bento at age 2 (celebrated his birthday last month)!
I realized that today marks the first year anniversary I started my bento journey with my elder boy, what a coincident! Time flies, I can hardly believe that I’ve been making bento for a year.
Since this is JQ’s first bento, I did not make anything fancy because I want to see how well he would appreciate my bento. I used one of the smallest bento boxes, cut some grapes and fresh apricots into small pieces and put some colourful flower food picks on them. In the other section of the bento box I put some small pieces of butter bun.
I was wondering if JQ knows what to do with the food but surprisingly, he knows! He ate them with the small fork I gave him, and he picked up the food picks one by one to eat the fruits. I think he had a fun time with that as I saw a big smile on his face!
By the way, I plan to host another giveaway to celebrate this milestone (I have not to decided on the prizes yet), but I think I will do it for the blog anniversary instead which is coming soon too! Stay tune….
