Today is the first day of the year I finally back into bento making. I knew I should have made something special or cute, but I really need some time to get back into the momentum after almost a month’s break.
If I were to make something complicated, I guessed I really have to wake up an hour earlier than usual! Besides, my boy also requested me to make him a light bento so that he can finish it on time. I think they have lots to catch up starting of the year and they might have tighter schedule.
Therefore I decided to just make him two little teddy bear Nutella spread sandwiches with the handy teddy bear sandwich cutter/mold.
Besides the sandwiches, there were two dried prunes and two skewers of boiled endamame. I included a little sweet Nougat treat for JY.
That was all for today’s bento. Wish everyone a great start of the week and Happy Monday!

莎莎妈咪sab – You are so fast Sabrina! Thank you and wish you a great week ahead too!
You shout out my feeling too dear…haha
I was like too kelam-kabut to prepare bento early in the morning after break for few months..>.<
I too made some bear shape bento for my gal today. She got only about 10 mins for her sneak break, so she can only finish half of her bento normally, then the rest was eaten in the car after school…haha..
Rachel Hei – Exactly! Even making this super simple bento, I’m looking high & low for my tools, haha…
That was what my son did too, if the bento I made is too much to be finished during the morning break, he’ll finish them during the afternoon tea time.
Nice and simple & with lot of surprise too.
Normally is like that, will need a bit time to get back the momentum after the breaks. Gambateh!!!
Emily Ng – But I think you are already in full gear, love your 2011 bento inspirations!
I’ll try to catch up yeah, ganbate!!
I felt the same too!! We should form a group _ mummies back to making bentos
Karen – Oh yes, that sounds great! I guessed most of us have the same ‘syndrome’ yeah after the long break, haha…

Lia Chen – Thank you so much for your kind comment! I’m really looking forward for your 2011 bento inspirations!
You’ve started with such a cute one Lia!
The first and very nice one..
prince n princess mum – Thanks!
Cute little teddy bear with a heart! Can I ask how did you put the edammame on the foodpick? Mine always break..
Evelyn – So sorry for replying so late. I always choose the thin food picks for endamame, and usually steam/boil them a little longer so that they are not too crunchy, which is easier to break when pin.
Hi, I have been searching for the 3 compartment round container for my kids. May I know where did you buy this container from? Is it made of BPA free plastic?
Emily Wong – Welcome to KidsDreamWork! I bought this box from Daiso but I don’t think is BPA free (since it is not stated there). The body of the box is heat/cold resistant of 120 to -120 degree Celsius.
Thanks for the information. Will look for this bento box when I shop at Daiso again
Emily Wong – You are most welcome!
Hi. Your teddy bear sandwiches and skewers are so adorable! May I know where I can buy the teddy bear cutters and skewers? Thanks so much!
Ena – Thank you and welcome to KidsDreamWork! I bought the teddy bear cutter set from an online shop – BentoCraft.com. The skewers actually are just normal food picks which you can find in many places like Daiso or 100 yen shops
