Finally I had the chance to try my hands on the newly bought jigsaw puzzle Lunch Punch set today!
Since this is the first time I used it and I had no chance to try it out first the night before, I decided to play safe looking at the limited time I had in the morning to make the bento. I just use one of the four cutters from the set instead of mix and match them.
I bought two types of bread, the normal white bread and the wholemeal bread to make the jigsaw puzzle sandwiches so that I can create some colour contrast.
There were actually two butter and Nutella spread sandwiches stacked together in the bento. I alternated the colours of the bread even between the upper and lower sandwiches.
Since I was using the Tom & Jerry bento box which is among the few that can fit the puzzle sandwiches, I decided to decorate the white sandwiches with seaweed punched out paws. They matched the transparent cover of the bento box perfectly. I should have taken a picture of the bento with the lid on!
Since the puzzle sandwiches already taken up most of the space in the bento box, I can only added some dried prunes and a bonus Ferrero Rocher chocolate in the bento.
JY was so happy with his bento today. When he came home from school, he told me that he only managed to eat 3 pieces of the bread before the rest were taken by some of the classmates! Maybe next time I shall make him a real big jigsaw puzzle sandwiches when I figure out how to mix and match the cutters so that he has enough to share!

Lia Chen – I was thinking if I use chocolate & white bread, would the puzzle look even nicer? Maybe shall give that a try too.
The puzzle sandwiches make it fun and enjoyable for your boys! I like it. Love to buy for my son too

They cut so nicely rite?
I adores them! hahaha

Wow! Cute idea! You mentioned that the Tom and Jerry bento box is the only one large enough to fit a sandwich. I hear that a lot of people would often like larger container sizes, but still have the bento concept for their lunches. I found one with larger sized containers that I love using. I use the bento box set with the bento buddies set, and it gives me lot’s of versatility! Here’s a link if you’re interested:

They also have a lot of menu ideas with a photo gallery for inspiration on those mornings when you just don’t have the time or creativity
I hope you enjoy it as much as I have!
All the best!!
Anna – Oh yes, the laptop lunch box is always in my wish list
