Finally I had the chance to make Hello Kitty bento! As you know my elder boy is very particular about his bento being girlish so I never had a chance to make any cute girlish character every since I start making bento.
Thanks to the bunch of good old friends for giving me this opportunity to try my hands on some girlish bento. We had a gathering during the past long weekend, and MS requested for a Hello Kitty bento (the fact was she was actually joking). Anyhow I thought it was such a great chance for me to make Hello Kitty, which I have been wanted to do so since long time ago. In addition maybe it could be a good surprise for the ladies. So I decided to put that into action.
Since it was kind of very last minute decisions, I can only make used of whatever food I had. I bought some buns which were just perfect to be decorated into Hello Kitty as they are white in colour.
I cut the ears from the bun itself, and the eyes from seaweed and nose from cheese. I used two heart shape icing sugar to make up the ribbon for the Hello Kitty and stick them to the bun with some Nutella spread. The whiskers were tiny stripes of uncooked spaghetti. I hope they do look like Hello Kitty! I filled up the disposable bento boxes with some cherry tomatoes and pitted prunes with some handmade food picks. Here are all the four bentos I made.
To make the disposable bento boxes look nicer, I tied them with some pretty ribbons and this was how it turns out to be.
All the nicely packed bentos ready to go to the hand of their respective owners.
Hope this will bring a good surprise to all my friends and hope they will like it. We had a great catch up for sure.
A special thanks to hubby for taking care of the two boys while I had a relax time meeting up with my friends.
