Today is Teacher’s Day and I would like to take this opportunity to wish all teachers out there a very Happy Teacher’s day!
JQ’s school is having a picnic at the school compound besides the swimming pool this morning. Parents are requested to let the kids bring some food to make the picnic a success. Hence I decided to make some snack cups for the kids.
I chosen to make something light as I thought there will be plenty of food for all the kids since everyone is supposed to bring something.
I bought some pudding cups from a bakery ingredient shop, and fill them up with goodies.
In each of the snack cups, there were a bite size flower shape cheese and strawberry jam sandwich, a small cup of jelly, some marshmallows and a small dark chocolate. I wrapped the sandwiches with cling wrap to ensure the freshness.
JY was so excited helping with the marshmallow wrapping and putting everything into the snack cups. He even offered his collection of star and smiling face stickers to be stick on each of the march mellows which I think is a good idea. The cheerful yellow smiling face and start shape stickers definitely brightened up the snack cups.
A closer look of the snack cups without the flower sandwiches.
The snack cups with the flower sandwiches.
Besides the snack cups for the children, I made some froggy burger sandwiches and some flower decorated polo bun for all the teachers as the Teachesr’s Day present as well.
Due to time constraint, I bought the burgers and the polo buns from a local bakery shop instead of making them myself.
The eyes of the frogs were made of cucumber, seaweed and cheese while the broad smiling mouth and rosy cheeks were cut from crab sticks.
As for the polo buns, I decorated them with two different colour cheese flowers and crab sticks instead.
Last but not least, I packed them up in the disposable burger containers which housed the bun so perfectly. I attached a small handmade greeting card to each of the boxes with nice ribbons. JY has been helping with writing the greetings for each of the cards too.
Hope the teachers will like them!
JY’s school is not celebrating Teacher’s Day today but next Friday after their school exam. Friday is also the last day of school before the two weeks school holiday starts. I guessed that was the reason the school decided to celebrate it on that day so that everyone can really enjoys the party. So very likely I will have to think of something for his school party as well as he already made the request upon seeing what I made for the brother.
