I was so happy to receive my bento gadget parcel yesterday, because there was these silicone lettuce leave shape food barans which I’ve been longing for among the many gadgets in the parcel.
With these new food barans, I don’t have to always worry about having to stock up the fresh lettuce leaves in my fridge and finish them up before they get rotten!
With the latest purchase of many new bento gadgets, I’m of course inspired to make a decent kyaraben bento for JY today.
I bought some cream bread loaf from a local bakery store and I thought that was just nice to make two little mice from the two rounded ends of the bread.
I used the remaining bread to make the ears, hands and eyes of the mice and stick them onto the body with the cream from the bread. The noses were made of dried cherry tomatoes while the whiskers were some uncooked stripes of spaghetti.
I hold the mice with two paper cupcake cups before putting them into the foldable sandwich box which has the perfect height for the mice in sitting up position. I included some pitted prunes, fresh cherries and dried cherry tomatoes to complete the bento and of course decorated them with some of the lettuce shape food barans. I hope JY will have a good time enjoying his bento as much as I enjoy making it.
By the way I’m in the midst of collecting cake pop photos from my blogger friends in order to make a cake pop parade post. Thanks to my dear friends who have shared their photo with me and giving me the permission to post them. In case anyone of you is interested to join the fun, don’t hesitate to send me your photos! I’ll of course indicate the owner of each photo. I’m going to make the post soon so stay tune!
