Last Friday was the last school day before the two weeks school holiday starts. JY’s school was celebrating Teacher’s Appreciation Day on that day and they were organizing a small party in the school compound.

I made these happy froggy bentos for JQ’s teachers the week before when they were celebrating Teacher’s Day. But this round knowing that I’ll be on mid night work Thursday night, making bento for JY’s teachers is definitely out of my list.

Hoping that we could show our sincere appreciation, I decided to let JY make some handicraft gifts instead for his teachers.

I was trying to look for some handicraft gift ideas online and I came across this lovely chalkboard flower pot with paper flowers at Kelli’s blog. I thought that was lovely and yet not too tough for JY to make.

So I went on and sourced for the all the materials we need to make the blooming flower pot as I named it.

Instead of using ceramic flower pots, I decided to use some plastic glasses instead. Reason being, this would be much safer and lighter for JY to carry to his school because he has to carry 8 of them!

To make the flower pot look more interesting, I discussed with JY and we decided to make a ladybug for each of the pots besides two different sizes flowers. Once decided, we immediately start working on it – JY do the tracing on the art papers, I cut them out and he put them together by sticking the flowers to the colourful pencils and ladybugs to the lollipop sticks.

Work in progress for the flowers.

And here we go, the big flowers, small flowers and the ladybugs all set to be put into the plastic glass.

We filled up the glasses with stripes of the green crepe paper and put in the flowers, the ladybug, and a small paper for writing messages attached to the pot using the paper clip and we are done!

Initially we just planned to make a total of eight blooming flower pots, but we ended up making twelve! Eight pots for his teachers in school and four for his extra curriculum activity’s teachers. He insisted that he has to give the other four teachers too since they are also his beloved teachers.

Hope the teachers will like these little gift!

I haven’t been updating my blog regularly due to an extremely busy schedule since starting of the year. Anyway, I will try to catch up soon.

This is one of the Chinese New Year art works that JY made in school. I love the happy look of the bunny. What do you think?

I want to take this chance to wish all Chinese a very Happy & Prosperous New Year and happy holiday to everyone! May everyone be happy, healthy and wealthy!

I did not make my elder boy any bento this morning because he had to attend dancing lesson as preparation for the school’s sports day which is just around the corner. Snacks were provided during the lesson hence he didn’t need any bento.

In fact the kids are not allowed to bring their own food whenever there is any dancing lesson.

Since I had a bento break today, I shall take this chance to share some of JY’s latest I-Clay artworks.

Here comes Winnie The Pooh and baby Ultraman.

These are some animal miniatures. First comes the cute little red puppy.

Follow by the Purple Alligator!

And last but not least Mr. Dinosaur.

By the way, have you ever wonder how I keep all his I-Clay work? Here they are – JY’s little I-Clay corner!

These are the artwork that JY did for father’s day.

The two shirts were done in his school, while the daddy’s clay miniature was his masterpiece from his I-Clay class.

Oh well, daddy doesn’t has mustache though. LOL

I like this miniature I-Clay daddy, how about you?

And this is my elder boy’s words for his daddy, his hero! Seriously, his daddy is really his hero, to him daddy knows everything!

I guess it will take another 2 years maybe for JQ to be able to express his feelings to daddy via writing. For the moment, will just get him to give daddy a hug and say “I love you”, that is the best he can do now. LOL

This was another amazing Mothers’ Day artwork (at least they are to me yeah, haha…) that my boy presented to me yesterday when he came home from his DaVinci Creative Kids art class, which is one of his favourite weekend activities.

If you realized, many of his artworks are in blue as blue is his favourite colour. I just wonder why he didn’t colour the flower into blue, because he even comes home with blue frogs in his paintings!

Ok, back to the topic, I love this piece of Mothers’ Day artwork too. Each of the details shows the efforts that my boy (and his teacher of course) put in!

JY was so excited to show me the ‘You are No. 1’ words on the big flower. Thank you so much my dear JY and of course all his teachers for helping him with these works.

I would love to present this piece of artwork to my mom too, and I’m sure so does JY!

Thank you mom, you are the best mom and you are really my No.1!

My mom is a super hero to JY too, he told me that grandma knows EVERYTHING, and grandma cook the best food in the world)!

All right, last but not least, I wanted to take this chance again to wish every mother a very Happy Mothers’ Day!
