Anyway, I am so glad that at least I still can steal some time to plan out a series of year end bento workshops again.

This round there will be three hands-on workshops available, one per month starting from the month of October until December.

Here are some details of the upcoming workshops.

Workshop #1: Halloween Theme Bento Hands-on Workshop (adult only)
Date    : 28th Oct 2012 (Sunday), 10am-1pm
Fee      : RM100 per person

Workshop #2: Christmas Theme Bento Hands-on Workshop (adult + kid-4 yrs above)
Date    : 10th Nov 2012 (Saturday), 2.30pm-5.30pm
Fee      : RM130 per pair (RM50 for additional kid)

Workshop #3: Christmas Theme Bento Hands-on Workshop (adult + kid-4 yrs above)
Date    : 16th Dec 2012 (Sunday), 10am-1pm
Fee      : RM130 per pair (RM50 for additional kid)

First, I would like to thank the Star 2 Craftypedia column journalist Mei Lee for featuring KidsDreamWork in one of the articles for Mothers’ Day back in May. We had made a simple step-by-step tutorial for making a Mothers’ Day onigiri bento. Here are some photos courtesies from Mei Lee and some that I took after the photo shooting session.

May was really a happening month for KidsDreamWork as KidsDreamWork was also being invited to give a short demo of making bento with Malaysia Hari Ini (MHI) by TV3 channel. This was really a great experience for me as it was the first time I participated in a live talk show.

Sorry for the poor quality of the photo but that was the best I can get by capturing the photo from TV screen.

Last but not least, here is a photo of the “Adults & Kids Bento Workshop” that I conducted in June. I can only took a photo before the class really started and a group photo at the end of the class. Too bad I had no chance to take the photo of the end products of the kids with their mummies as I was rushing to clean up the classroom to allow the next baking class to commence.

So this was what KidsDreamWork had been up to for the past few months. I shall try to post more bento posts following this.

By the way, I just can’t help posting this lovely photo of the dedicated hand-made toy bunnies (made from socks), a present from a friend to my boys.

Thanks Celine for the lovely gift, not just the boys but I love the pair of bunnies too! Good news is in case you are interested with the bunnies, they are made for order too by Celine!

Since then I had been thinking of running another workshop meant for both parents and kids, which I think must be fun.

And finally after a month plus toying with the idea, I am glad that I managed to put this into action and worked it out.

Here are details of the workshop.

Date : 9^th June 2012, Saturday
Time : 10:00am – 1:00pm (3 hours)
Venue : House of Ingredients (H.O.I.) at Sri Damansara
Fee : RM120 per pair (1 adult 1 kid)

This will be another hands-on session. You will be assembling a cute sandwich bento with your kid(s), making an attractive party cup (decorating the food into something cute), and last but not least we are going to make a fun pizza making session.

It was a pleasure to meet all the participants in the workshop. It is always the greatest thing to get to know people with the same interest isn’t it? To those whom had requested for a personalize starter kit, I hope you like what you received.

I definitely had a great time during the workshop, and I hope everyone took part in the workshop had a great time too while picking up the basic bento making skills.

These are the masterpieces of Oliee and ROPT, the lovely couple. By the way, ROPT was the only male participant in the workshop, bravo!

And this belongs to Celine, a nicely assembled bento for a first timer!

This is a hands-on session. I will cover the basics of making character bentos. Once you master these skills, use your creativity and you are on your journey to the fun world of bento making.

You will receive a set of starter kit, and snacks are provided in the workshop.
